Pasar Gede Solo dikenal sebagai simbol harmoni kehidupan sosial budaya di Surakarta. Tidak jauh dari pasar besar tersebut, terdapat pemukiman warga Tionghoa lengkap dengan klenteng tertua di Solo, Klenteng Tien Kok Sie. Pasar Gede terletak di Jalan Urip Sumoharjo di seberang Balai Kota Surakarta yang merupakan daerah pecinan atau china town kota Surakarta.
Di wilayah tersebut banyak warga keturunan Tionghoa tinggal dan berdagang. Selesai dibangun pada tahun 1930, bangunan pasar di kawasan itu diberi nama Pasar Gedhé Hardjanagara. Dinamai pasar gedhé karena atapnya yang besar. Seiring dengan perkembangan masa, Pasar Gedhe kemudian memang menjadi pasar terbesar dan termegah di Surakarta.
Per November 2023 BSI telah menyediakaan layanan QRIS kepada 259 ribu merchant dari berbagai sektor, seperti makanan & minuman, fashion, dan barang kebutuhan sehari-hari di seluruh Indonesia. Khusus di Kota Solo terdapat 5.325 merchant QRIS.
Sedangkan di regional Semarang (Jawa Tengah dan Yogyakarta), BSI berhasil mencatatkan kinerja cukup impresif untuk transaksi QRIS dengan volume transaksi Rp17,6 miliar per November 2023.
“Hal itu membuktikan, BSI berhasil menciptakan gebrakan signifikan dalam meningkatkan aksesibilitas layanan keuangan dan mengurangi ketergantungan pada uang tunai, salah satunya di lingkungan pasar,” jelas Saut.

Di Solo sendiri per 30 November 2023 BSI menunjukkan kinerja yang mengesankan, dengan capaian dana pihak ketiga (DPK) Rp4,2 triliun, pencairan pembiayaan Rp1,18 triliun, dan saldo baki debit pembiayaan ritel Rp2,5 triliun. Meskipun fokus pada pertumbuhan, BSI tetap menjaga rasio risikonya dengan rasio Kol 2 sebesar 1,51% dan pembiayaan bermasalah (NPF) 2,23%.
