Adapun El Art merupakan salah satu UMKM unggulan di Jawa Tengah yang menjadi peserta di ajang Inacraft on October 2023 yang digelar di JCC Senayan, Jakarta.
El Art sukses mengubah limbah spare part menjadi dekorasi rumah yang bernilai. Pemilik El Art, Edi Waluyo menuturkan, ide usaha tersebut dimulai saat masa pandemi Covid-19 lalu, di mana dia banting setir dari usaha kuliner ke bidang kerajinan.
Awalnya, Edi bercerita bawha dirinya resah melihat banyak limbah spare part dari bengkel di sekitar rumahnya yang tidak dimanfaatkan maksimal.
Kemudian, dia mendapatkan ide agar limbah-limbah tersebut bisa digunakan untuk bahan kerajinan tangan sekaligus menjadi ladang bisnisnya.
“Saya lihat di sekeliling saya di bengkel-bengkel di sekitar daerah saya banyak limbah-limbah dari spare part itu mereka ga maksimal output-nya. Mereka hanya dijual kiloan ke pemulung. Ini potensi kalau misalkan diolah menjadi sebuah karya mungkin memiliki nilai jual lebih tinggi ketimbang hanya dijual secara kiloan saja,” ujar Edi.
Edi mengaku belajar secara otodidak melalui *media sosial* untuk mengolah limbah spare part tersebut. Alhasil, diimbangi dengan dasar seni yang dimiliki dari kecil, dia berhasil menjadikan sejumlah karya seperti patung-patung kecil yang terbuat dari logam.
