Batik jumputan bisa diartikan sebagai salah satu jenis batik yang dibuat melalui cara menghias dengan ikat celup. Adapun cara kerja batik jumputan yaitu mengikat kencang beberapa bagian kain kemudian dicelupkan pada pewarna pakaian.
“Ini sebagai salah satu inovasi bagi pelaku kriya, dan cara ini juga sebagai upaya memuliakan lingkungan dan kelestarian alam,” kata Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno saat kegiatan Workshop Peningkatan Inovasi dan Kewirausahaan Kabupaten/Kota Kreatif (KaTa Kreatif) di Plaza Aspirasi, Serang, Banten, Sabtu 19 Agustus 2023.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Menteri Sandi ditantang untuk membuat batik ecoprint dengan teknik shibori oleh para pelaku ekonomi kreatif (ekraf) di Serang, Banten.
Bersama Pj Gubernur Banten Al Muktabar, dirinya ditantang pemilik usaha batik ecoprint Cahaya Cinta Carenang Vina untuk mencoba langsung proses batik ecoprint dengan teknik shibori.
Teknik itu di Indonesia banyak dikenal untuk diaplikasikan di kain dengan teknik serupa misalnya di Jawa ada jumputan, Banjarmasin dinamakan sasirangan, ataupun di Palembang dikenal dengan pelangi.
Menurut Vina, produk yang dibuatnya adalah inovasi dari produk batik ecoprint yang dikombinasikan dengan teknik shibori (teknik melipat dan pengikatan serta pewarnaan), yang membuat produk ini berbeda dari ecoprint biasanya.
