URBANCITY.CO.ID – PT PGN Tbk telah menyalurkan 976 BBTUD gas bumi hingga triwulan 1 tahun 2023. Karena itu, Semester 1 2023, PGN Grup berhasil mencatatkan pengurangan emisi sebesar 237 Ton CO²eq.
Dalam jangka panjang, PGN berkomitmen mewujudkan penggunaan energi low carbon, sehingga terus berkontribusi dalam menghadapi perubahan iklim yang menjadi isu global saat ini
Selaku Subholding Gas Pertamina, perseroan memainkan peran pemanfaatan gas bumi tak hanya untuk bisnis tetapi juga ikut menjawab dalam melestarikan lingkungan guna meraih kualitas udara yang lebih baik.
Terdapat peningkatan volume penyaluran gas bumi dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun 2022, manandakan ada dampak yang meningkat pula terhadap lingkungan.
Sekretaris Perusahaan PGN Rachmat Hutama, mengatakan bagaimanapun gas bumi merupakan bahan bakar yang rendah emisi sehingga lebih ramah lingkungan.
“PGN berprinsip untuk turut berperan dalam mewujudkan bauran energi nasional ramah lingkungan pada masa transisi energi,” katanya melalui keterangan tertulis, Senin, 21 Agustus 2023.

Di lingkungan perusahaan, PGN juga menerapkan penggunaan energi yang ramah lingkungan dan konsumsi energi yang efisien. Inisiatif efisiensi konsumsi energi tersebut berdampak langsung pada berkurangnya emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) yang dihasilkan.
Berbagai inisiatif terkait lingkungan dilakukan terutama untuk mengurangi konsumsi energi, tingkat emisi dan limbah. Upaya efisiensi energi diantaranya melalui pengaturan pola operasi Gas Turbine Compressor, pemasangan soft starter pada after cooler, hingga penggunaan AC dan lampu yang hemat energi.
