Sementara ESP merupakan teknologi ramah lingkungan pada PLTU yang berfungsi untuk menangkap debu dari emisi gas buang yang didesain mampu menyaring dan menangkap debu dengan ukuran sangat kecil (<2 micrometer) hingga 99,9%, serta teknologi ramah lingkungan pengendali polutan lainnya (NOx dan SOx).
“Seluruh pembangkit PLN IP yang ada di sekitar Jabodetabek telah memakai teknologi ESP yaitu PLTU Suralaya 1-7, PLTU Lontar, PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu, PLTU Labuan dan PLTU Suralaya 8,” tegasnya.
Berbagai upaya yang dilakukan PLN IP di atas berhasil memperbaiki kualitas udara ambien di sekitar lokasi pembangkit di Jakarta dan Banten.
“Parameter PM 2.5 di sekitar lokasi pembangkit menunjukkan tren yang cenderung menurun dan masih di bawah Baku Mutu Ambien (BMA) yang ditetapkan pemerintah,” imbuhnya.

KLHK, lanjut Edwin, menetapkan ambang batas baku mutu emisi pembangkit tenaga listrik sebesar 550mg/Nm3 untuk parameter SO2 dan NOx serta 100mg/Nm3 untuk parameter partikulat pada PLTU Batubara sedangkan untuk PLTGU (Gas) 150mg/Nm3 untuk parameter SO2, 400 mg/Nm3 untuk parameter NOx dan 30mg/Nm3 untuk parameter partikulat.
“Hasil Monitoring CEMS per 15 Agutus 2023 dari parameter SO2, NOx, PM dan Hg pembangkit-pembangkit yang dioperasikan PLN IP berada di bawah Baku Mutu Emisi sesuai dengan ketentuan Kementerian LHK terkait Baku Mutu Emisi Pembangkit Tenaga Listrik,” terangnya.
