Adapun BNI mendapatkan penghargaan ESG Disclosure Transparency Award 2023 sebagai perusahaan dengan dengan predikat Management BB dari Investortrust dan Bumi Global Karbon Foundation.
Diketahui bahwa Bumi Global Karbon Foundation merupakan anggota dari Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) dan Partner Silver dari Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Lembaga ini melaksanakan penilaian dengan metodologi yang menggunakan 33 faktor ESG berdasarkan faktor ESG pasar modal terkemuka, studi peraturan, perjanjian internasional, serta standar dan pedoman pelaporan yang juga telah melalui proses assurance oleh pihak ketiga independen.
Evaluasi terhadap pengungkapan ESG perlu dilakukan untuk mengukur sejauh mana transparansi ESG telah dicapai perusahaan dan langkah apa yang dapat dipraktikkan untuk meningkatkan pencapaian pengungkapan ESG.
Corporate Secretary BNI Okki Rushartomo mengatakan penghargaan ini semakin menunjukkan peran proaktif BNI sebagai bank BUMN dalam penerapan keuangan berkelanjutan di Indonesia.
BNI terus berupaya untuk mengimplementasikan aspek ESG melalui lima pilar keberlanjutan yaitu BNI untuk Indonesia, pelanggan, lingkungan, masyarakat, dan pegawai.
