URBANCITY.CO.ID – Gabungan Industri Kendaraan Bermotor Indonesia (Gaikindo) mengakui penjualan mobil di Indonesia stagnan di angka satu juta unit dalam satu dekade terakhir.
Padahal, pabrikan otomotif di Tanah Air semakin ramai dengan brand baru, tak hanya Jepang dan Eropa. Dalam lima tahun terakhir pabrikan China juga mulai meramaikan industri otomotif Tanah Air.
Karenanya, Gaikindo terus mencari formula untuk melakukan terobosan supaya angka penjualan semakin bertambah. Jika pasar tumbuh, dengan jumlah pemain bertambah, maka lapangan kerja dan perekonomian juga akan bertumbuh.

Untuk itu, Ketua Umum Gabungan Industri Kendaraan Bermotor Indonesia (GAIKINDO) Yohannes Nangoi mengatakan pihaknya bersama pelaku industri terus meencari solusi terbaik agar jumlah penjualan mobil tidak mentok di angka tersebut.
Menurut Yohanes, meski rasio kepemilikan mobil masih sekitar 99 mobil per 1.000 penduduk, tetapi pasar mobil Indonesia seperti enggan beranjak dari angka 1 juta unit per tahun.
Berdasarkan data Gaikindo, penjualan mobil tertinggi di Indonesia terjadi pada tahun 2013 yang mencapai 1.229.811 unit kemudian terus merosot di tahun berikutnya namun tetap berada di level satu jutaan.
Gaikindo selama ini sudah menjalin kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak termasuk akademisi untuk mencari akar masalah tak berkembangnya pasar otomotif dalam negeri.
