“Selama PLTU atau PLTGU beroperasi, kami selalu berupaya tekan emisinya semaksimal mungkin, serta dimonitor secara realtime terhubung langsung dengan dashboard Kementerian LHK,” ujar Edwin Nugraha Putra, Direktur Utama PLN IP, melalui keterangan tertulis yang diterima Urbancity.co.id, Senin, 21 Agustus 2023.
Salah satu Sub Holding PLN tersebut mendukung penuh langkah pemerintah dalam menekan polusi udara. Untuk sektor kelistrikan, PLN IP telah menerapkan berbagai teknologi ramah lingkungan guna menekan emisi dari pembangkit listrik berbasis batubara.
Menurut Edwin, operasional PLTU PLN IP telah dilengkapi dengan teknologi ramah lingkungan termutakhir Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) dan Continous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) untuk memastikan emisi gas buang dari operasional pembangkitan ditekan semaksimal mungkin.
“Penting diketahui, CEMS merupakan teknologi yang digunakan untuk memantau emisi pembangkit secara terus menerus,” katanya.
Sehingga emisi yang keluar dari cerobong dapat dipantau secara real time dan dipastikan tidak melebihi baku mutu udara ambien yang ditetapkan Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK).
Di kawasan Jabodetabek, seluruh pembangkit PLN IP mulai dari PLTU Suralaya 1-7, PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu, PLTGU Priok, PLTU Labuan, PLTU Lontar, dan PLTU Suralaya 8 telah dilengkapi CEMS.
