“Paylater ini sama halnya dengan rentenir. Mereka juga sama saja menggunakan tipu daya supaya orang berutang. Apalagi paylater ini menawarkan transaksi yang lebih mudah dan cepat daripada perbankan,” ujar LaNyalla, Selasa 14 November 2023.
Menurut LaNyalla, kemudahan mengakses pinjaman membuat pengguna paylater menjadi kebablasan hingga akhirnya terjebak pada tunggakan. Masyarakat juga harus sadar bahwa meski administrasinya mudah, namun suku bunga dari paylater relatif tinggi.
“Transaksi paylater ini bisa menghadirkan masalah finansial baru. Apalagi fitur ini beriringan pula dengan suku bunga yang tinggi. Inilah yang harus disadari masyarakat,” jelasnya.
Ditambah lagi, minimnya literasi keuangan, semakin membuat masyarakat terbelit oleh kesulitan ekonomi hingga kemudian terjadi blunder keuangan.
“Blunder keuangan ini yang sangat kita khawatirkan. Di satu pihak sudah terlilit utang, kemudian demi melunasi pinjaman mereka berutang lagi dari pihak lain,” tuturnya.
