URBANCITY.CO.ID – Di sela lawatan ke Kenya, Afrika pada Senin, 21 Agustus 2023, PT Pertamina (Persero) menjajaki kerjasama di sektor energi.
Hal itu dilakukan guna memperluas kiprahnya di mancanegara sekaligus sebagai upaya Go Global dalam memperkuat kedaulatan energi di Tanah Air.
Direktur Utama Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati menjelaskan, beberapa kerjasama yang akan dicanangkan Pertamina Group di Afrika, bersamaan dengan kunjungan Presiden Repulik Indonesia Joko Widodo tersebut akan menjadi salah satu andalan di sektor energi bagi bangsa dan negara.
“Pertamina dan Subholding menginisiasi sejumlah potensi kerjasama strategis dengan beberapa perusahaan energi di Afrika,” katanya.
Kerja sama ini ditetapkan dalam bidang hulu migas, pengembangan infrastruktur serta kilang pengolahan, hingga potensi kerjasama distribusi produk hilir dan pengembangan energi baru dan terbarukan panas bumi (geothermal).
“Kerjasama ini dapat memperkuat kerjasama antar negara-negara Afrika dan juga kerjasama secara global,” imbuh Nicke Widyawati.
Di Kenya, Minggu, 20 Agustus 2023, Pertamina melalui PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk telah menandatangani Nota Kesepahaman atau Memo of Understanding dengan Africa Geothermal International Limited (AGIL).
Kerja sama antara PGE dengan AGIL tersebut dilakukan untuk pengembangan teknologi dan pemanfaatan sumber daya panas bumi. Dengan begitu, PGE akan memiliki peluang untuk mempelajari pengembangan infrastruktur dan pemanfaatan teknologi panas bumi untuk diimplementasikan di Indonesia, serta berekspansi dalam pengembangan geothermal di Kenya.
