“Pengembangan rantai pasok hidrogen hijau ini sekaligus memperkuat ketahanan energi nasional. Artinya, kita beralih dari BBM yang mayoritas berbasis pada impor ke green hydrogen yang diproduksi domestik di dalam negeri,” tambahnya.

Berdasarkan perhitungan PLN, bahan bakar green hydrogren yang dihasilkan dari sisa operasional pembangkit sangat kompetitif jika dibandingkan dengan BBM.
Perbandingannya, per 1 kilometer (km) mobil BBM membutuhkan biaya Rp1.400,-, sedangkan mobil listrik Rp370,- per km, dan mobil hidrogen hanya Rp350,- per km.
“Sehingga, transisi energi ini tidak hanya untuk mengurangi penggunaan energi beremisi tinggi di sektor transportasi, tetapi sekaligus beralih ke energi yang ramah lingkungan, bahkan nol emisi, dan tentu dengan harga yang jauh lebih murah,” jelasnya.
Darmawan memaparkan, HRS Senayan akan semakin strategis karena di sana juga dibangun charger electric vehicle berbasis hidrogen yang memiliki fungsi sama dengan Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum (SPKLU).
Di sana juga dibangun Hydrogen Center dan Hydrogen Gallery Room sebagai pusat pelatihan dan pendidikan terkait hidrogen di Indonesia.

PLN saat ini bisa memproduksi 199 ton green hydrogen. Dari total produksi tersebut, PLN hanya menggunakan 75 ton untuk kebutuhan operasional pembangkit, sementara 124 ton sisanya bisa digunakan untuk kebutuhan lainnya.
Jumlah tersebut dapat digunakan untuk melayani 424 unit cell electric vehicle, sehingga dapat menghemat impor BBM sebesar 1,55 juta liter/tahun dan menurunkan emisi karbon hingga 3,72 juta kg CO2/tahun.
