URBANCITY.CO.ID – Kedutaan Besar RI untuk Belanda mengapresiasi langkah PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk atau BNI di Belanda. Diharapkan, BNI dapat segera beroperasi secara penuh untuk memudahkan transaksi diaspora di Belanda.
“Kami sangat mendukung perjalanan BNI, sangat jelas bantuan dan manfaatnya bagi pengusaha Indonesia diaspora,” ujar Duta Besar RI untuk Belanda Mayerfas, Rabu (5/9/2023).
Mayerfas mengungkapkan, kehadiran BNI sangat membantu diaspora Indonesia, terutama terkait informasi urusan perbankan. BNI banyak mengadakan pertemuan dengan diaspora dan pengusaha Indonesia untuk memberikan informasi terkait perbankan.
“Kalau mau kirim uang ke Indonesia gimana, mau transaksi gimana, mereka (BNI) sangat membantu karena diaspora kita banyak yang belum terbiasa dengan perbankan Indonesia,” kata Mayerfas saat ditemui di Den Haag.
Mayerfas melanjutkan, potensi transaksi di Belanda yang membutuhkan dukungan BNI sangat besar.
Ia mencontohkan, pekerja Indonesia dapat mengirim uang Rp6 miliar per bulan ke satu daerah.
“Itu baru uang pribadi, belum uang yang melibatkan pengusaha, pasti lebih besar,” kata pria yang pernah menjadi duta besar RI untuk Vietnam ini.
Mayerfas berharap, BNI dapat segera beroperasi penuh di Belanda. Saat ini, BNI baru hadir secara full branch di Inggris. Sejak adanya Brexit, sejumlah aturan berubah yang menyebabkan diaspora di Belanda kesulitan mengakses fasilitas di London.
“Kami juga terus berupaya memfasilitasi kehadiran BNI di Belanda. KBRI berharap dapat menjembatani kehadiran BNI sesegera mungkin. Bank Belanda kan ada di Indonesia, masa bank BNI kita tidak,” pungkasnya.
