Direktur Institutional Banking BNI Muhammad Iqbal mengatakan bahwa saat ini, dunia sudah mengalami transformasi digital. Hal ini juga dialami oleh Indonesia, sehingga digitalisasi data kependudukan menjadi sebuah *keharusan.*
Terlebih, sampai hari ini sudah lebih dari 6 ribu institusi terintegrasi dengan pusat data Dukcapil.
“Inisiasi IKD ini adalah *keharusan.* Kami sebagai bank milik negara tentunya akan selalu proaktif dalam membantu pemerintah dalam hal ini Dukcapil untuk mewujudkan digitalisasi data kependudukan Indonesia,” katanya.
Adapun, dengan memanfaatkan IKD dan NIT dalam bentuk digital ini, BNI akan semakin maksimal memberikan layanan perbankan kepada para diaspora di Hong Kong.
Dirjen Dukcapil Teguh Setyabudi menjelaskan, IKD merupakan Informasi elektronik yang digunakan untuk merepresentasikan dokumen kependudukan dalam aplikasi digital melalui perangkat seluler yang menampilkan data pribadi sebagai identitas penduduk.
IKD merupakan bukti identitas yang dapat digunakan dalam berbagai transaksi dan layanan publik, mempercepat proses verifikasi identitas dan mengurangi ketergantungan pada dokumen fisik, mencegah kehilangan atau pencurian identitas, mempermudah akses ke layanan publik tanpa harus membawa fisik KTP, dan mengurangi birokrasi dan akses yang dibutuhkan dalam proses administrasi kependudukan.
